A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in Brooklyn’s Albany Houses — less than 24 hours after a youngster the same age was gunned down at another Brooklyn NYCHA complex, police said Monday.
Tristan Sanders, 16, was shot twice in the chest in a hallway of an Albany Houses apartment building on St. Marks Ave. near Troy Ave. about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
Medics rushed the teen to Kings County Hospital, where he died 45 minutes later. He wasn’t carrying any ID and cops initially estimated he was in his 20s.
Two teens, one wearing a gray hoodie, the other a blue hoodie, ran from the scene and are being sought. Four shell casings were recovered between the second and third floors in the apartment building.
About 11:45 p.m. Saturday, 16-year-old Taearion Mungo was shot in the chest on Auburn Place near N. Portland Ave. outside NYCHA’s Walt Whitman Houses in Fort Greene, cops said. Medics rushed the teen, who lived in a different apartment building in the same housing complex where he was shot, to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Around 1:30 a.m. last Thursday, Clarence Jones, also 16, was fatally shot in the torso by two gunmen on Razor scooters near W. 124th St. and Lenox Ave. in Harlem, cops said. The youngster was about nine blocks from home when he was attacked, according to cops.
No arrests have been made in any of the three slayings.
Less than a half-mile away from the Albany Houses, Kendell Friday, 25, was fatally shot in the head on St. Johns Place near Schenectady Ave. just before 5 a.m. last Wednesday.
Friday, an out-of-work security guard, was a couple of blocks from the home he shared with his mother when he was gunned down. No arrests have been made.
Brooklyn’s 77th Precinct has documented 10 killings through Oct. 20, compared with six in the same time frame last year — and two of this year’s slayings happened within a block of where Friday was killed.
On Sept 1, 37-year-old ex-con Donnell Thomas was shot in the chest just outside his apartment building on the same block where Friday was gunned down.
And on Jan 24, Barrington Howell, also 37, was fatally stabbed in the neck a block away at Schenectady Ave. and Sterling Place. Jamel Miles 39, was later arrested for murder, robbery and weapons possession.
